More than one thing I have learned about a good blog post

Over the past two months I have been taught a lot about how to write an effective blog post. I am sure that most of you already understand what is effective and what isn’t but here are a few things that I have learned.

  • ONE: It is ok to personable.  Even though this is the blog for our business and yes we can write about business stuff we should not forget to share personal stories about life, family and ourselves in general.  I have heard from many Probloggers that people that read blogs like to read personal stories and thoughts.

  • TWO: Have a point and stick to it.  You don’t want to start writing about something and bounce all over the place with your topic of points.  Stick to a point, issue or story and the readers will be able to flow through it and it will make sense.
  • THREE: Making post reader friendly.  There are a few things to make a post reader friendly have bullet points, pictures, lists and videos.  A few of these things on your post will help a ton.

  • FOUR: Choose your font and font color wisely.  Of course you don’t want your font to be too small that the reader needs to squint to read.  You also need to have the color be a aesthetically pleasing.

Now I am not saying I have mastered the skills of a good blog post but I am learning and hope to get better.

Good tips for writing a good blog! I find it’s also good to have subheaders for different sections of a longer blog post.
