Bloggled’s 5 of the top scrapbook websites

We know here at Bloggled that a large part of our demographic are people that journal blog and a large part of them also scrapbook regularly. So knowing that, I wanted to do a write up of 5 of the top scrapbooking websites on the internet. I have done my research and even though I don’t know as much as others about scrapbooking I found sites that popular scrapbookers have rated highly. I have included info about the companies and my review of the site. So here are the Bloggled’s picks, not in any particular order.

1. Scrapbook.com is a family owned business located in Mesa, AZ.It began in 2001 during the downward spiral of the first internet craze. Jill Davis had raised her children and decided to spend her new-found free-time to do something big. She had scrapbooked for over 25 years and loved it. She decided to share her scrapbooking passion with others…and maybe turn it into a business. And so, with no outside capital and no loans, she jumped in feet first and started Scrapbook.com out of her home office, pulling 12-18 hour days, six days a week.

Scrapbook.com grew into a thriving, profitable family business. It now employs Jill’s three sons and 22 others. The company is one of the largest and fastest growing scrapbooking sites online and touches lives throughout the world. Jill’s story is one of passion, optimism and perseverance.

Our mission is to guide people through the memory preservation process and to keep them motivated to document life through:
• Providing the products they need at the right price
• Supporting them through education
• Inspiring them through creative outlets such as galleries, forums and blogs
• Giving them a home on the web where they can connect with Scrapbookers worldwide

Review: Out of all the sites I landed on it was one of the cleanest and most organized. The Forums and Resources links were very useful. They included beginning and general forum topics with the resource link having tips, articles and quotes. Great info and awesome content.

2. Founded in 1999, Two Peas in a Bucket is a leader in the retail scrapbooking industry and a respected community for scrapbooking enthusiasts around the world. Named Top Internet Retailer by Creating Keepsakes Readers’ Choice Awards and number one in site traffic by the Scrapbooking Top 50, Two Peas in a Bucket has established itself as a premier scrapbooking destination online.
Founders Jeffrey White and Kristina Nicolai-White are committed to finding the best products and the brightest designers and maintaining a fresh and fun community for scrapbookers at every level.

Review: This site was also very clean and thought out with how the content on the landing page is organized. I guess we can assume that because all these scrapbook sites are run by scrapbookers that they should be clean, cute and organized well. My favorite thing about the site is there top 10 lists. The lists include recent member layouts, hot scrapbooking products and favorite step-by-step projects. The members are allowed to vote and rate these items.

3. A Cherry on Top began over 11 years ago as Stickers Galore! A scrapbooking hobby became a quest to find the newest and the best scrapbooking products. The hobbyist told her friends about her new interest through the Internet, which was a still a relatively new fad among those who had computers. What began as a few friends sharing the bargains has become one of the world’s largest online scrapbooking stores. What began as a shoebox full of stickers has exploded into a large selection of scrapbooking supplies, papers, embellishments, albums, and so much more.

Review: After looking the site I loved the fact that it had a huge selection of paper and not only that there is huge selection of discounted items. I know they started years ago with the concept of offering great products at great prices but I feel that they have exceeded their own expectations with the wide range of products and the prices they can offer.

4. At Digital Scrapbook Place, you will find a wonderful community and digital scrapbooking ideas in their Gallery, Forums, and Chat Room. Check out the Digital Scrapbook University for tutorials for Pixel Magic, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro, Digital Image Pro, and more. Students are raving about our online classes. And you won’t find higher quality products anywhere than the ones in the Digital Scrapbook Place Store. Whether you want to create everything yourself in your graphics program or just want to assemble gorgeous pages using our pre-made page kits and templates in your scrapbooking software, you’ll find everything you need to learn, grow, and create at DSP!

Review: One of the coolest things I saw throughout my search was Digital Scrapbook Places online classes. Here is how it works. Digital Scrapbook University courses are online, self-paced classes with expert instructor guidance and feedback to help you learn or improve your digital scrapbooking skills. Their in-depth lessons offer instructions, screen shots, private forums for posting questions and answers, and special galleries for posting class work. Private weekly chats are held with DSU instructors for further help and guidance. After registering for a class, you will receive a receipt confirming your order. On the 1st of the month, you will receive a welcome letter from the DSU Dean and your instructor with class instructions and further info.

5. Scrap Girls apart from the obvious has excellent quality products; energetic and vibrant message board; members’ gallery to publish your own work; warm and friendly community; classes, chat rooms and challenges, Scrap Girls offers much more.
Scrap Girls vision includes:
• Large “mall” of fabulous designs available now to consumers
• Opportunities for new talent to showcase their designs
• Opportunities to build skills in digital scrapbooking techniques
• Ground breaking digital scrapbooking products
• Supportive, friendly environment where scrapbookers of all levels will feel welcome and accepted

Review: One the main things I love about this site is the ton of tutorials available for free. Some of these are short how to videos which makes learning easier. Just download and run on your computer at home. Scrap Girls also have specific classes and also sells a package of video tutorials for those who are just starting out and an advanced one for the more experienced. These are formatted for several software programs so you can find one that suits yours. This company as well as Bloggled is a Utah company so we think that is really cool as well.

We welcome comments and feedback
