Giving Shelf Life to Your Work

adblock-small-twitterK, We’ve got one major concern about the Twitterverse - the tendency for most tweeple to tweet away without backing up their information.  In fact, while most bloggers work to make sure their content is backed up regularly, very few Twitter accounts are subjected to the same safe treatment.

Does it really matter? Actually, yes – it matters a lot! Curious why we think you’re going to wish two years from now that you had done a Twitter backup properly?

Giving Shelf Life to Your Work

Part of the reason it seems so easy to forget about backing up Twitter information is the length of communication required for one tweet. After all, a 600 word blog post seems a lot more important to save than a 140 character – 20 words or so – tweet on Twitter.

But just because the communication is short, don’t disregard it as unimportant. Cumulatively, many Twitter users submit updates multiple times a day, often rivaling the content submitted by bloggers. Micro-bloggers write shorter messages – but don’t necessarily communicate less.

Give yourself credit for your work, and don’t let it go to waste into the obscurity of the Twittersphere.

Keeping Your Network Strong

Since joining Twitter, you’ve no doubt been working on building your network of followers. Some follow you because they know you. Others are interested in your main topics of discussion. Still others may want to follow because you are located in the same geographic region.

Regardless of why you follow and are followed on Twitter, managing and keeping your network strong is an important part of the process. Should your account be compromised and your information lost, you’ll want to have a backup of your Twitter connections.

Salvaging Important Information

Ever come across a great link or hilarious photo on Twitter that you’d like to keep or share? By backing up and saving your Twitter information, you also salvage all of the content you share – and is shared with you.

Start backing up NOW!!
